How does auriculotherapy work?
Specific points on the ear are treated by micro-current electrical stimulation to help balance and/or normalize a range of physiological and psychological functions. This gentle electrical stimulation of the external ear is used to alleviate health conditions in other parts of the body.
What should I expect during treatment?
Your practitioner will begin by inspecting certain points that may be related to your problem on one or both of your ears. The ears will be checked by visual inspection, palpation or by electrical testing. When therapeutically active points are located, they will be treated by several different methods. At Carolina Chiropractic, our method is by micro-current electrical stimulation. In addition, sometimes a tiny seed or tack is taped to the point to provide continued stimulation.
